When History Becomes a Warning
In “Ruins Of Rome”, we use Rome as a projection surface – symbolizing the rise and fall of great civilizations, power, progress, hubris and the ignorance of inevitable consequences. The ancient ruins stand for thought patterns whose warnings are still highly relevant today.
Past and present merge into a tense framework in which history does not feel concluded, but rather like an echo that continuously resonates through modern societal developments.

Urgency, Stagnation and the Inevitable Collapse
Musically, we translate this theme into a song that constantly builds tension, driven by a subtle sense of foreboding. Carefully placed rhythm changes play with urgency, arrogant hesitation and the sudden arrival of catastrophe.
“Ruins Of Rome” feels like a look at a system that is fully aware of its own consequences – yet willingly accepts them. In doing so, we connect the metaphorical with the real and create an intense, tightly woven atmosphere that goes far beyond straightforward thrash metal.

Production & Artwork
The production was handled by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann (Orden Ogan, Asphyx), Jörn Michutta (Morgoth) and Sebastian Stöber, giving the song exactly the pressure, clarity and depth it demands.
The striking cover artwork was created by Bianca Stöber and depicts the “Plaguebringer” standing in the ruins of Rome – a visual representation of the core idea behind “Ruins Of Rome”.
